His career began in 1999 in Information Technology within the United States. Following a migration to Singapore in 2000, he joined a leading human resource consultancy, developing what was then known as the ‘world’s first skills-based recruitment system’ known as Way2Work.Com. This was globally utilised by organisations to the likes of EMC2, Hong Kong Tourism Board, the Ministry of Manpower Singapore, among others, for their recruitment needs.
In 2002, Yatin joined the Singapore Environment Council (SEC) managing its Industry Development Portfolio, including the esteemed Singapore Environmental Achievement Awards (SEAA) and the Singapore Green Labelling Scheme. Yatin has audited and assisted several hundred companies in gaining stewardship recognition for profitable environmental sustainability. Other achievements include, initiating Singapore’s first Climate Change Awareness Programme and promotion of national energy, water and resource efficiency.
In 2007, he left the SEC as their Senior Manager, and joined Singapore's second largest power & utilities provider as their Environmental Manager. Responsibilities he embraced included the crafting of sustainable business development strategies, establishing corporate social responsibly engagements and the formalisation of Singapore’s first large scale Clean Development Mechanism project within the emerging green power sector.
After setting up EcoWiz as an online consultancy at the end of 2007, Yatin was lured back to the SEC as their General Manager in 2008 to expand business prospects and introduced independent income streams to support their operations.
His specialisations include carbon footprinting, design and development, greening the supply chain, environmentally-sound construction practices and improving the efficiency of manufacturing capabilities. He has also represented Singapore in several UNEP/DP lead initiatives, conferences and regional studies on green business issues and contributed towards national development via his presence on several government committees.
Yatin Premchand manages EcoWiz, an integrated environmental solutions boutique consultancy focused on developing and refining green business practices in the South/East Asian region, establishing sustainable development projects, and reducing corporate environmental impacts.
